English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys will release 2 track CD single «Cricket Wife» as special bonus to their hardback book «Annually 2021», which PSB publish every year for their fans.
«Cricket Wife» is featuring a new, almost ten minutes long, same titled song, plus additional track - «West End Girls» (New Lockdown Version), which Pet Shop Boys premiered via YouTube on June 1st last year. «Cricket Wife» uses orchestral sounds and was written as a classical-style instrumental piece by Chris Lowe over which Neil Tennant sang lyrics taken from a poem he had written. Single completely home recorded individually by Chris and Neil, and Pete Gleadall mixed the final track. Artwork is done by Farrow.
Pet Shop Boys «Annually 2021», 64-page hard-backed book, will include:
- - A special feature entitled «A year» - a definitive chronicle of 1986, the year Pet Shop Boys achieved global success, based on Neil’s diary with comments from PSB and archive photos.
- - News from 2020 and how PSB have been spending their time in lockdowns.
- - Photographs, fan letters answered, and more.
Pet Shop Boys «Annually 2021» will be published on May 7th, 2021.
