With their new full-length album «Dual +», iconic German darkwave project Deine Lakaien continue creative concept started with previous double album «Dual».
While «Dual» was strictly following a principle of cause and effect - one cover version on the first record with a new song that was inspired by it on the second. «Dual +» keeps the basic formula, but comes as more compact, more multi-layered and more experimental. Classically-educated composer and pianist Ernst Horn and vocalist extraordinaire Alexander Veljanov are further exploring the musical vector that the duo has taken on «Dual» by playfully adapting some of their musical influences and making them their own.
«We developed the «Dual» idea and got down to work, and in the end we actually had 32 finished songs. The question about the singles was of course also included when ultimately compiling «Dual», but it was by no means the case that all hits should be found on «Dual» and that «Dual +» represents the leftovers. Perhaps, «Dual +» sounds a bit more experimental, but that is more likely due to chance.»
Deine Lakaien «Dual +» set to release on November 26th, 2021 via Prophecy Productions. The album will be available as Digital, as a CD Digipak version, as a limited LP version in black 180g vinyl and in a gatefold cover and as a strictly Limited Edition Art Book in 7" format, including an opulent 48 pages booklet with an exclusive interview (English + German), previously unreleased photos and with the «Dual +» album CD.
