[ 24.10.2008 ] - Hot news from Funker Vogt«Warzone K17 - Live in Berlin» |
Long awaited news from Funker Vogt camp! After 5 years of absence Thomas Kroll is back again on guitars for Funker Vogt since Frank Schweigert has other job-related engagements. Kroll will be playing live for the very first time during the band's gig in Hannover at Capitol on December 26th, 2008. Kroll left the band in 2003 after 5 years playing with Funker Vogt. His last concert with the band was in Italy on November 22nd, 2003. The reason for the split was to be found in a mix of musical and personal differences with the rest of the band and management. That seems all to be past tense now. The band is currently also preparing a new album and will enter their new studio later this year.
On November 14th, 2008 Funker Vogt will give us a foretaste of the double DVD and double CD entitled «Warzone K17 - Live in Berlin», which is going to be released in Spring 2009. «White Trash - K 17 Live Excerpt» MCD includes re-arranged versions of «Thanks for Nothing» and «Blacke Hole».

[ 09.10.2008 ] - Depeche Mode sign worldwide exclusive deal with EMI MusicDepeche Mode 2009 |
EMI Music is thrilled to announce that it has signed an exclusive worldwide deal with multi-platinum recording artists Depeche Mode. EMI Music's Mute label has been the best-selling British trio’s international home since 1981 when the label released the group’s debut single «Dreaming of Me» in the UK. The new deal means that EMI Music will now release Depeche Mode’s music in the US for the first time, as well as in the rest of the world.
Andy Fletcher of Depeche Mode said: «We are so pleased to be continuing our relationship with Mute, and we feel very positive about the new team and set-up at EMI. This is going to be an exciting new chapter.»
Nick Gatfield, EMI Music's president - A&R Labels, North America, the UK and Ireland, said: «We are delighted to be extending our relationship with Depeche Mode, and to be supporting them in the US for the first time. They are one of the world's most innovative and successful bands who continuously push boundaries and excite fans with their recording and live work.»
Daniel Miller, chairman, Mute, said: «I am really happy to be continuing to work with the band. They have been reaching new creative heights in the studio and they have one of the most devoted fanbases of any band in the world today. I believe that the Mute and EMI teams are extremely well positioned to help Depeche Mode build on their success.»
The first release under Depeche Mode’s worldwide agreement with EMI Music is a new studio album, the band’s twelfth, due outside the US on April 20th, 2009, and in the US on April 21st. Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Andy Fletcher are currently in New York working on the album, which will be the follow-up to Depeche Mode’s 2005 release «Playing the Angel», which reached No. 1 in 18 countries.

[ 09.10.2008 ] - «Last Night Remixed»«Last Night Remixed» |
Remixing has been at the heart of the Moby machine for fifteen years now. In 1992 alone, Moby himself mixed everyone from The B52s and The Prodigy and Brian Eno to Jam & Spoon and Michael Jackson. «One of the best things about producing and remixing other artists is to deconstruct their master tapes and see how they've put their songs together,» he says. «Remixing «Beat It» was amazing, as I was able to deconstruct an iconic song produced by Quincy Jones. It was almost like going back to school.» Since then, he's remixed everyone from Aerosmith and The Beastie Boys to David Bowie and Metallica.
From Steve Angello's seminal mix of «Raining Again» to Trentemoller's haunting remake of «Go», Moby's music has always found a place on the best dance-floors and podiums. «Go – The Very Best of Moby: Remixed» (2006) featured classy remakes from Vitalic, Katcha, Armand Van Helden and Mylo – and now «Last Night Remixed» (2008) (cat. no.: LCDSTUMM275) looks set to continue that tradition. «Remixes in 2008 are more important than they've ever been,» continues Moby. «And the great thing about the ubiquity of software like Abelton and Logic is that now almost anyone can be a remixer.»
So now it's the turn of the new breed to turn their hand to Moby's own music. Released on November 3rd, 2008, the cream of the current electronic crop have all been enlisted to remix tracks from «Last Night», which is surely the most disco Moby album this decade. Indeed, rather than the tech/house style re-rubs of previous records, the new mixes all share an uplifting electro-disco sound that has seen a shift from «Hotel» back to the discotheque. Indeed, The Freemasons remix of «Disco Lies» was a hit for everyone from Pete Tong (who opened his show with the mix at the start of August) to Dave Spoon and Carl Cox. It's probably the album's biggest anthem.
But it's far from the only highlight here. «I Love To Move In Here» has been remixed by New York disco-punk outfit Holy Ghost!, French producer Kris Menace takes on «Ooh Yeah», German electro producer Tocadisco suggests «Live For Tomorrow», The Shapeshifters remake «I'm In Love» and Seamus Haji brings his typically frenetic beats to «I Love To Move In Here». Elsewhere, you'll find bass-driven club mixes from Brooklyn newcomers Drop The Lime, General Midi, Dutch producer Mason and Sheffield's own D Ramirez.

[ 08.10.2008 ] - 25th anniversary of Camouflage«Live In Dresden» DVD |
This Autumn German electro pop legends Camouflage is celebrating their 25th anniversary being together as a band. In 1983 the band was founded by Marcus, Oliver, Heiko and Martin Kaehling (who left the band in 1984). The musical direction for the band was easily determined by the shared love for electronic pop music. None of the three Camous could have imagined at the time that only a few years later they would experience incredible success and also have to deal with the demands that the success would put on them. Camouflage has survived these pressures. They remain friends and enjoy their musical endeavors, even when many priorities have changed over the years. The next important step is finally the release of the first Camouflage live DVD with it's many planned extras. The «Live in Dresden» DVD release has been scheduled for January 23rd. It will contain 2 DVDs and the audio CD with rare specials, pictures, videoclips etc. More details will follow soon, check our site for updates!
